Ways to Reset the Engine Light on a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport

    Turn the ignition crucial off. Hook up the scan tool towards the diagnostic connector. On the 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, this connector is located on the bottom on the driver's side dash, towards the left in the hood release lever behind a tiny plastic cover Auto key programmer.
